We Remain Committed To Civil Service Reform-Osinbajo
Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo has expressed Federal Government’s commitment to pursuing the ongoing reforms in the Federal Civil Service in order to bequeath a modern Efficient, Productive, Incorruptible, and Citizen Centred Public Service to the nation.
Professor Osinbajo disclosed this at the Interdenominational Service to mark the 2017 Federal Public Service Week, at the Living Faith Church, Jahi, Abuja on Sunday.
Represented at the service by the Minister of Health, Professor Isaac Adewole, the Acting President said: “Head of Service, I want to assure you that our President, Muhammadu Buhari, and as the Acting President, we remain committed to your reform agenda. We quite appreciate your vision, in building modern Public Service Organisation that will give us an engine for effective national development agenda. We also share in the vision and your Strategy for reform as enunciated in your document, Strategy of the Head of Civil Service for Reform Agenda 2017-2019.”
He felicitated with the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Winifred Oyo-Ita and the entire Civil Service on the celebrations.
Professor Osinbanjo who called on Nigerians to thank God for everything we have come across, and for everything we have endured, said that God is at work in this country.“It is our understanding that God behind us, and God around us, nothing shall be impossible for this nation. This country will go places and we shall all reap the benefits of this country.” He said.
Earlier in her remarks, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Winifred Oyo-Ita disclosed that the backlog of promotion arrears of Civil Servants and other entitlements would soon be paid.
She added that the Federal Executive council had already approved the proposal to that effect by the Ministry of Finance.
