HOS Sues For Bottom-Top Approach In Addressing Security Challenges
The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Winifred Oyo-Ita has advocated for a concerted effort in addressing security challenges at the grass root level as this would go a long way in improving the overall security of the nation.
The Head of Service made this known yesterday while receiving members of Technical Committee of the Joint Committee of Senate and House on Interior led by Hon. Abdulmalik Zubairu Bugudu, who paid her a courtesy visit in her office.
Mrs. Oyo-Ita stressed the critical role security at the grass roots plays in the total security of the nation:
“We are all very concerned about the security crisis in the country, and we know that unless rural areas, which are under Local Government Areas are secured, the rest of the country
cannot be secured”.
Speaking earlier, the Chairman of the Technical Committee of the Joint Committee of Senate and House on Interior, Senator Usman Bayero said that the committee would be working vigorously with relevant stakeholders in the rural areas in addressing the
challenges of insecurity in some parts of the country.
According to Senator Usman Bayero, who was represented by Hon. Abdulmalik Zubairu Bugudu, assured of its commitment in stemming the tide of insecurity ravaging some parts of the country by actively engaging the legislative arm of the Local Government
Councils (LGCs) through its enlightenment programmes in winning the war against insecurity at the rural areas.
