FG INAUGURATES 9 MAN TECHNICAL COMMITTEE ON THE SELECTION OF INSURANCE COMPANIES AND BROKERS
The Federal Government has inaugurated a nine man Technical Committee on the selection of Insurance Companies and Brokers for the 2016/2017 Group Life Assurance Scheme in the Federal Civil Service.
Inaugurating the Committee in her office in Abuja today, the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Winifred Oyo-Ita said the Group Life Insurance Scheme is a form of Compensation for officers who lost their lives in the course of duty so that the next of kin will not be left stranded. She said there areas which needed to be improved upon for a better service, these areas include; proper documentation and timely payment of claims.
She listed the terms of reference of the committee which include pre-qualifying the Insurance Companies/Brokers that meet the requirement in accordance with the Procurement Act 2007 and the advertisement. The committee is to submit its report within four weeks to the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.
Responding the Chairman of the committee who is also the Permanent Secretary Common Services Office, OHCSF Mr. Yemi Adelakun assured the HOS that the committee will do everything humanly possible to complete the report within the time frame.
